FAQ

Placing an order with Foy & Co

Our website displays when we are less than 10 in stock, however, if you give our team a call we'll be able to provide you with the most up to date stock information.

We may not have the quantity you are trying to add to your basket, or we may be out of stock. Please drop us a message and we'll try to provide a date when it will be re-stocked.

Some fabrics are limited clearance and will not come back into stock.

Our minimum order quantity is one metre.

We are able to sell in increments of 0.5m providing the order is over 1m. Please give us a call or drop us an email in order to place an order.

You can cancel your order as long as it has not been shipped, please contact our customer service team as soon as possible on 01446 771210.

If you have already received a fabric order from us and need to place an additional order for more fabric, please let us know before placing your order so we can try to ensure it comes from the same batch.

As the fabric is printed in batches, some can have slight variance in shading.

Unless stated in the item specifics, our fabrics do not come fire treated and we are unable to offer FR treatment in house. You will need to source this service but we are happy to ship your order directly to the company completing this if you provide us with their address at check out.

Unfortunately we do not have certificates available for FR fabrics. FR clearance fabrics are generally made up of discontinued ranges or from mills no longer in production.

Trade CUSTOMERS

At this time we do not offer trade accounts.

We specialise in offering fabrics at competative prices as standard which means we tend not to need to offer further discount. If you are looking to place a large order and wish to discuss pricing, please get in touch.

Sample orders will need to be placed via the website.

Samples

Yes, we try to provide a true representation of the fabric with the photos that we offer on the product pages however due to computer screen calibration this can differ. Samples are the best way to ensure the fabric will meet expectations on colour and handle.

The sample you receive will be approximatley A5 in size. We try to ensure you will have enough of the colour and pattern to help with your decision, however, we cannot guarantee pattern placement on the samples received.

Samples cost £1 each. Delivery is free.

Samples are dispatched with Royal Mail and generally arrive within 3-5 business days.

No unfortunately not.

GENERAL

We provide recommended usage on all of our fabrics. Our filtering options will also allow you to search by specific usage, for example, curtains or upholstery.

It is normal for washable fabrics to be subject to some degree of shrinkage, this will vary dependant on the type of fabric. We would always recommend if you plan on washing the fabric, to do so, prior to making.

Unless other information is provided, we would recommend to dry clean fabrics.

Fading will occur naturally over time in most fabrics.

A Martindale score is provided on fabrics suitable for use on upholstery. The Martindale is used to represent the durability of a fabric, the higher the score, the more resistant to abrasion it is.

We include a roll image of the fabric on the product page, this will give you an idea on whether the stripe is horizontal across the width or whether it runs vertically.

Some double width stripe fabrics are railroaded meaning the stripe will run horizontally across the width of the roll, but can be turned to achieve a vertical stripe. In this instance the width becomes the drop and the length of fabric ordered becomes the width.

For more information on railroaded fabrics, see our blog post on fabric key words and terms.

In most cases we can provide quantity advice, please email us or use our contact form. We'll need to know your choice of fabric, measurements and specific make requirements.

Please note, our calculations should be used as a guide and are based on how we would make up the product. We cannot take responsibility for under/over ordering of fabric.

We have accounts with a number of fabric brands that may or may not be listed on our website, please get in contact if you are looking for something specific and we'd be happy to help where possible.

We attend a huge number of shows and events and so have a high turn-over of stock, particularly our accessories, so we can't put all of the products we take to shows on our website.

If you email us with what you are looking for we'll try to help source it for you if available.

Yes, we have a team of experts on hand to offer advice and provide quotations on a variety of made to measure services, look at our making-up services page for more information.

Please drop us a message for a lead time on our made to measure services.

Our fabrics and products are despatched from our warehouse near Cowbridge in South Wales, we are open to the public Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am - 5pm.

Due to the volume of products we offer not all stock is currently on display, if you are hoping to see something specific we recommend you contact us in advance.

We do still undertake a number of re-upholstery jobs. Please email photos of the job in order for us to advise if it is something we'd be able to help with.

Unfortunately, this is only a service we can offer locally in South Wales.

We can only offer our made-to-measure service to customers purchasing fabric from Foy & Co.
